From the King’s Desk

First, I would like to welcome you to a new and exciting Kingfish tournament series called Xtreme Kingfish Tournament Series, (XKTS). We are not only a sanction tournament promoter, but a true tournament competition series. Our Mission is to put fun, families and team work back in to the sport, as well provide opportunities for growth and enrichment to our sponsors and members. We are proud to announce that our main benefactor is Special Olympics of Florida. Together we will all be helping others with intellectual disabilities, overcome obstacles and realize dreams in life though volunteering, charity work and donations. We are also looking forward to helping promote a green effect and educational programs.

In our first year, we will focus on the state of Florida exclusively. We will be hosting local meetings for our members for their input and to meet us. In the future we will be expanding out over the year to GA, SC, NC, TX and MS. Within the next few months we will be announcing a list of Sponsors, Membership benefits, Rules and Tournaments in the state of Florida. Additional dates for a full season will be announced and will start in 2009 early 2010. The state of Florida will be broken down into five sectors to cut down the travel expenses and the distance from home. This will not only save time, but also fuel, as well as wear and tear on the equipment and our members. This will be an economically friendly Series.

Our Tournaments will be based on a two day, one per day weighable fishing tournament format. The standings and placement will be based on an aggregate total weight. Points will be awarded to teams weighing in fish during tournaments and loyalty performance points for fishing in one of our tournaments and Series’. This will be a point system that works for everyone. Whether you are consistent or not, your team will have a chance.

We are working on a host location for the Xtreme Championship Tournament in the summer of 2010 to fill out the field. The financial awards for the Championship can be as high as $350,000 paid out to First through Twentieth place of all Classes. The Championship field will consist of a percentage of each Sector competing in their Series’.

Your new membership today, starting as low as $75 per member, will expire at the end of 2009/2010 Series. That’s up to a five month incentive, if you join between now and the end of 2009. Also until the end of the 2009, we will offer a free 2010/2011 Membership for every 50th new member. It does not matter if you are a Sector team member or Elite team member, this applies to every membership received in the order it was received. You, as a member of XKTS, will enjoy the beneficial difference between us and the other tournament series out there.
