Sebastian Tournament recap:

Friday started off with a bang!!!

Capt. Carl Swenson made a special trip down the ditch from Cape Canaveral, volunteering to help us promote our program, “Give A Ride” to Special Olympics Athletes.  This was definitely was one of the most fulfilling experiences I have ever had, whether in business or my personal life.  His unselfish act helped to promote this event as a "FUN" tournament to introduce ourselves beyond just being a website.  We know the memories he gave the Athletes and even me are priceless!

We had over 130 hits last week on the Sebastian tournament page, countless phone calls and emails from those who planned to compete in the tournament.  It is a shame that only two teams were up for the challenge.  I can understand people were turned off by another tournament series which closed up shop not too long ago.  However, the interest generated got the hopes of the athletes up and then they had to face the reality that some people just don't keep their promises in this world.

I do want to add another special thank you to the two teams who showed up and supported this new venture.  We really appreciated meeting Andrew, John, Kyle and Jordan.  They have the true spirit of competition and we can't wait to see them at the next tournament.

We had great weather and fish were all over the beach.  We learned a lot from this past weekend.  Remember these tournaments support our benefactor Special Olympics on the local and state level.  In other words, the money doesn't just go into someone’s pocket.

We are preparing for Cape Canaveral tournament September 25-27.  You will soon see us all over the East Coast of Florida.  However, this particular tournament will have proceeds going to benefit the Brevard County local chapter of Special Olympics, especially in honor of Mrs. Eunice Shriver.  So come out and show your support.  The phone calls, emails and "tweets" don't support the Athletes; only your tournament registration adds to supporting the dream.

Thank you for your support,
Philip
